Wednesday, February 2nd, 2011

“The Colorado Association of Manufacturing and Technology has embarked on a partnership to promote aerospace and clean energy development and job growth in the state. It has signed onto the NASA Space Act Agreement to accelerate technology development and build a massive manufacturing innovation park, expected to host up to 100 businesses and help create 10,000 jobs in Colorado. The tech campus will give a boost to the aerospace and clean-tech industries - and the city where it is built. ”
This is a part of an article out of the Northern Colorado Business Report. To see the entire article go to, http://www.ncbr.com/article.asp?id=55541
This would be a great opportunity for Northern Colorado to welcome such an impressive venture, with so many opportunities.
There are so many highly educated individuals in Fort Collins and the entreprenurial spirit is high here.
This will no doubt bring in many new businesses, which in turn will really help with the overall Fort Collins Real Estate Market. What an exciting time. This could eventually lead to 10,000 jobs, which would be a huge exodus of Fort Collins Relocations. We sure are lucky to be here in Fort Collins.

Fort Collins, State of the City address summary

Wednesday, February 2nd, 2011

The Coloradoan wrote a good article with good coverage on the Mayor’s most recent and last State of the City address.

The address delivered Tuesday with City Manager Darin Atteberry to a full City Council chambers touched on the impact the passage of a .85 percent sales tax in November will have on city services and programs.

After years of cutting its budget, the city will be able to put more money into trans-portation, police and fire services, parks maintenance, and other high-priority pro-grams, he said. The tax measure, which was Issue 2B on the ballot, is expected to bring in $18.7 million in revenue during its first year.

Atteberry said the funding will allow the city to keep its standards high. He pledged to be accountable for how the money is spent and remain committed to “transparency and open government.”

“This was an amazing statement from you and we realize the responsibility that comes with it,” he said. “I promise that we will continue to provide cost-effective ser-vices.”

Fort Collins ranks 3rd in nation for Bike Commuting. Relocate to Fort Collins

Thursday, November 4th, 2010

According to American Community Survey, which released this information from a 2009 survey (Because I would imagine Fort Collins would be #1 by 2010.) The number of people biking to work around Fort Collins is very impressive.
Then 4 times a year, we even celebrate bike to work day by having BikeFC work with local businesses to support pit stops around Fort Collins, with breakfast, coffee and other treats. To learn more about that program and all things bicycle in Fort Collins, please visit www.bikefortcollins.org.

This is just another reason to relocate to Fort Collins. The weather allows for so many bikeable days. As my good friend David The Rafter says, “It is a privelage to live in Colordao.”

To more great days in the saddle.

Short Sale Opportunity in Fort Collins

Sunday, March 1st, 2009

In Northern Colorado, while the amount of foreclosures has slowed for the time, the amount of short sale opportunities is rising, especially in newer neighborhoods less than 10 years old. We are also seeing some good opportunity in investment properties with 4+ bedrooms near the CSU campus.

As a buyer or seller, please understand that the short sale approval process requires patience. With some banks today, it can take nearly 60 days or more to get the bank to signoff. Even REO properties can take time for approval, as the offer sometimes must go thru the higher channels of the bank. Local banks sometimes can approve things more quickly.
A few of the properties we have listed in short sale position are 3402 Apiatan and 1102 Bateleur in the Hearthfire Subdivision in North Fort Collins. The homes are builder’s homes, with outstanding finish in Colorado contemporary style.

Living Downtown–Living Close to Everything

Sunday, September 21st, 2008

Many homebuyers are looking to re-connect with their downtowns by living and working in or near downtown. This cuts the daily commute, puts them close to the action, immerses them in their community, and saves money. By living and working downtown, they can bike and walk to many destinations, and cut their use of the auto. They can enjoy dinner and entertainment downtown, and walk home. They can use mass transit, enjoy local parks, not pay HOA fees, and lead a simpler life.
Fort Collins homebuyers are joining this re-urbanization trend. At Keller Williams Downtown, we know downtown Ft Collins, and have great listings in condos, townhomes, new urban homes, and vintage old town homes. Fort Collins Real Estate is a strong investment. Contact Matt Evans, Mike Jensen, or JJ Hannah today to help you buy or sell. We have the knowledge and experience to assist you in residential and commercial real estate in Northern Colorado!
