Best places to retire? Fort Collins ranks 12th on that list of College towns.

In case you have did not have Fort Collins on your radar for places to consider when you retire.
CNN’s Money Magazine just ranked the top 25 City’s and Fort Collins came in 12th. Although, when looking at the competition, we could have easily been much higher. (In my opinion). This list was focusing on College towns and what that meant for classes, culture and vibrancy. If they would have looked at health of real estate markets, I think the Fort Collins Real Estate market would have boosted up the ranking as well. The Real Estate Market here in Fort Collins has continued to hold its level headed ways, which help to maintain its values.

Fort Collins has a population of 141,104 with 24% of residents over the age of 50. The magazine selected Fort Collins based on residents ease of access to ski resorts, hiking trails, golf courses that receive 300 days of sunshine, and the thriving shops and restaurants in Old Town. Fort Collins ranks 3rd in nation for Bike Commuting. Relocate to Fort Collins

According to American Community Survey, which released this information from a 2009 survey (Because I would imagine Fort Collins would be #1 by 2010.) The number of people biking to work around Fort Collins is very impressive.
Then 4 times a year, we even celebrate bike to work day by having BikeFC work with local businesses to support pit stops around Fort Collins, with breakfast, coffee and other treats. To learn more about that program and all things bicycle in Fort Collins, please visit www.bikefortcollins.org.

CSU rankings increase, just another reason to Relocate to Fort Collins

How does the Fort Collins Real Estate market stack up.. Listen to Fannie Mae and their forecast

Sometimes it seems that the Fort Collins Real Estate market is on an island. Other times, like now, it seems to meld right into the macro picture.
The Fort Collins homes sales trend for this last year Spring did exactly what the nations did.
The majority of the sales moved into May/June instead of July/August. This was a function of the First Time Home Buyers Tax Credit, which expired at the end of May 2010.
I do think Fort Collins statistics that come out in September will be better than the majority of the Nation’s, but it will still be down drastically year to date for the summer months. However if comparing Fort Collins Real Estate market to others, this is yet another reason to consider Fort Collins Relocation.
