Fort Collins Real Estate, LLC was born in 1988 as an independent real estate company and was purchased in March, 2003 by Michael L. Jensen. Michael L Jensen the current owner and Managing Broker of the company has been a Realtor since 1996 after obtaining his double major in Real Estate & Finance at Colorado State University. He distinguished himself by earning the Fort Collins Board of Realtors “Rookie of the Year” award in his first practicing year, and has never looked back. Although having purchased this specific company in March 2003, Jensen was not new to the real estate business - he was simply returning to the business he loved best after a well-deserved vacation and break from work where travels took him far and wide.
Jensen’s first real estate and residential property management company was wildly successful. “Housing Helpers” focused on CSU Student Rentals in an around campus together with residential property sales (homes, townhomes, condominiums and land) around the Colorado State University Campus) which he sold in late 2001. With his new company of Fort Collins Real Estate in 2003 and starting with just two licensed agents (Richard Payne, Jr.), the company has flourished and grown in 3-short years to 25 licensed agents at present, the majority working as independent contractors and the remainder working as company employees in a variety of capacities.
In fact, by 2005, the company Fort Collins Real Estate had grown so quickly that is was listed in the “top ten” of real estate companies in Fort Collins based on sales volume in the 2005 Northern Colorado Business Reports issue focusing on real estate companies. With many of the Fort Collins Real Estate agents being property investors who lead by example, as well as folks who have lived in the area for quite some time themselves, they have a deep market understanding of not only the residential but also the commercial markets from either a personal or investment perspective.
